The “Anchor Points” Routine: A Sample Daily Schedule
8 January 2026
Consistency is the ultimate organizational tool. When children know what comes next, transitions become seamless. We recommend building your day around “Anchor Points.”
- 08:00 – 09:00 | Soft Start: Open-ended play. Keep “Morning Bins” organized with puzzles or playdough to keep early arrivals engaged.
- 09:30 | Circle Time: Use “sit-spots” (Velcro dots on the carpet) to organize where children sit. This prevents the “he’s touching me” squabbles.
- 10:30 | Outdoor Exploration: Have a “Go Bag” organized near the door with sunscreen, first aid, and emergency contact lists.
- 12:30 | The Power Nap: Organization here means labeled cot sheets and a dedicated “nap map” so staff know exactly where each child sleeps for safety.
- 15:00 | Afternoon Reset: A quick 10-minute cleanup where children help “put the toys to sleep” in their labeled bins.
